Get in touch
The fastest way to reach us is email: rapps.sup@gmail.com. Tell us what you were doing and what happened, and include your iPhone model and iOS version if something went wrong — it usually saves a round trip.
You can also write to us from inside the app, in Settings.
The video has no captions
Not every video on YouTube has captions, and Stubey cannot invent them. When there are none, use Choose an Audio or Video File instead and pick the file: it is transcribed on your iPhone, and nothing is uploaded.
If you already have the text, Paste Transcript Instead skips the step entirely.
Transcription is slow, or seems stuck
On-device transcription runs at roughly real time on a long recording, so an hour-long lecture takes a while. Keep Stubey in the foreground while it works and leave the screen on.
If it never finishes, close and reopen the app and try the file again. If it still fails, email us the length and format of the file.
Apple Intelligence is not available on my iPhone
The on-device study engine is built on Apple Intelligence, which not every iPhone supports. If yours does not, switch AI study engine to the cloud engine in Settings — it works on any supported iPhone.
Note that the cloud engine is not live yet. Until it is, generation requires an iPhone with Apple Intelligence.
I hit a limit
The free tier holds 5 lessons at a time, videos up to 20 minutes, one study plan, week and month history, and 3 study packs from the cloud engine. On-device generation is free and unlimited.
Deleting a lesson frees a slot. Stubey Pro removes the limits.
Restoring a Stubey Pro purchase
On a new iPhone, or after reinstalling, open the Pro screen and tap Restore. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account that bought the subscription.
To cancel or change the plan, use Manage subscription, which opens your Apple Account settings. A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
I lost my lessons
Lessons, transcripts, notes, flashcards and quizzes are stored on your iPhone, and in your own iCloud account if you sync them. If you do, signing in to the same Apple Account on the new iPhone brings the library back.
If you were not syncing and the app was deleted, there is no copy for us to restore — we never had one. Exporting to an archive file before you switch devices is the safe route, and an iPhone backup that includes app data works too.
What you need to run Stubey
An iPhone running iOS 26 or later. On-device generation additionally needs a model that supports Apple Intelligence.
A bug, or a feature you want
Both go to the same place: rapps.sup@gmail.com. Feature requests genuinely shape what gets built next.
